The Faculty and the Department

As part of one of the UK's top ten Universities, you can expect to be involved in some world leading research and teaching. The Faculty of Engineering is divided into four departments:

  • Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering
  • Department of Civil Engineering
  • Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering

Working in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, you'll need to share our passion for engineering and bring your enthusiasm to every project we undertake. We provide a friendly and supportive working environment, and our team is made up of specialists in chemical and environmental engineering who are eager to share their experiences.

Engineering Vision 2015

Our involvement in the University's Engineering Vision 2015 project is key and as an established yet developing Department, we're looking forward to welcoming new staff to help us achieve our aims. The project has been developed to deliver a shared vision and six dedicated working groups have investigated the future of the Faculty of Engineering, defining our success and vision as:

  • Committed to inspirational teaching
  • Outstanding environment and facilities
  • Global Reach - a network of international campuses
  • Talented people - working and learning in a vibrant and supportive academic community
  • World Class Centres - delivering fundamental and applied research for tomorrow's technologies
